Practicing careful cutting techniques will minimize your cleanup operation on your inlays, which in turn, reduces your chances of breaking these fragile pieces of shell. While some cleanup with files is required with needle files, try to cut evenly and consistently, even at the expense of using more time during cutting – will be rewarded with a inlay with minimal post-cutting cleanup.
